I hadn’t given it a thought, but I flew from SEA to Montreal last November, changing at ORD and, AFAIK, no one paid the least attention to where I was coming from.
An aside - Driving with Colorado plates in a non-legal state (please don’t pick nits) can be a problem. Puts a big green target on your back.
My brother was pulled over for ‘inappropriate turn signal use’ in Indiana. I’m thinking he did not let it blink long enough before changing lanes.
The cop said he smelled MJ (my brother does not smoke and MJ had never been in his car). Cue the drug dog and a few hour delay. No, they did not find anything because there was nothing to find.
OTOH, the Kansas Highway Patrol does a brisk business on I-70 just E of the CO/KS line stopping cars with KS or other non-CO plates. Apparently a surprising number of such have traveled to CO for some crop shopping.
Bottom line: driving while poor, black, or scruffy looking are all examples of “probable cause” in some agency’s eyes.
Is she a good Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialist {K-9}? Is she a REAL good Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialist {K-9}?
What breed? Or they lose their breed individuality when they become Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialists {K-9}?
Unfortunately true. My brother is only one data point, but I wanted to give a heads up to my fellow Colorado friends that drive out of state.
Oh, and just to add… My brother and his wife where and are not in a “probable cause” demographic. Sad that it is to even consider that.
Don’t quite understand your post. I was just trying to fight ignorance :smack:.
FTR, Beagles/Harriers have been the breed of choice since before 1994.
It was a play on, well, a lot of things. Sorry I wasn’t clearer. I’ll just go and ask my dog, “Who’s a good doggie?” while I tossle her hair.
No, it’s dog handler ICE agent.
I believe I know a little more about your coworkers’ occupational titles than you do.
J/K, very cool, thanks for the correction.
You’re here in Chicago then?

What’s a dime bag? Ten dollars’ worth? 1/10 ounce? Ten grams?
$10 worth. A nickel bag is $5.
Thanks. Drugs are something I’m not into, and my early-20s were quite a while ago.
Absolutely not, you’re confusing Agriculture Specialists who seize fruits/plants/meats etc. with the other CBP K-9 canine handlers of which there are quite a few…
FWIW, I just got finished petting my co-worker’s Beagle {or is it a Harrier} a few minutes ago.
Yep, here in Chicagoland
.
Agree with the folks above on driving with Colorado license plates in neighboring states. All the while they are screaming about how much it costs them to put on extra law enforcement, these states are having a wonderful time profiling Colorado drivers and harassing them. The parents of one of my colleagues were stopped twice driving from Colorado to Kansas City. Each time their vehicle was searched. Each time the weak reason to pull them over was something to do with a taillight or indicator light being obscured by debris on the light cover. The husband smoked cigars and ‘burning vegetation’ was the cause for the search.
