Sometimes you just need a PB&J. It was goooood. And I picked up my knives from the knife sharpening place. I’m so excited that there’s an actual knife sharpening store just up the road from home! Maybe I’ll actually get my knives sharpened regularly from now on! I have a nice summer-weight sweater on today, and it’s really soft, and I really like it. But… it’s leaving fuzz _every_where. GRRRRRRRR. ---

Just google Nobska Lighthouse and you’ll see some really nice pics! I’m home. Nephew is at the airport, waiting to board his plane, probably within the hour. \*\*FCD \*\*is in the shower, and when he’s all clean, I think we’ll go get something to eat. Altho it is a bit early. Too tired to try to catch up - or rather too wilted. My box of kosher salt is completely soaked. Bit of excitement as I was leaving work - I stopped in the euphemism for my pre-drive pit stop, and as I was washing my hands, the fire alarms sounded. I work on the third floor. my department’s fire warden had told me to, in such situations, go into the stairwell (the doors are flame and heat retardant) and await further instructions. So I did. Everyone that was scrambling down the stairs stopped to make sure I was okay. They all promised to tell security that I was there. I had also called them myself. After about 10 minutes, one of the security guys came into the stairwell on the first floor and looked up at me. “You okay?” “Yup. just waiting for instructions” “Well, you can use the elevator now, it was a false alarm”. Except that when I exited the building, there were two fire trucks and one ambulance, so I have no idea what really happened. I also got some sad news - one of my theatre professors passed away yesterday. I am quite :(. ---

I can, have and just did eat myself sick on fresh, local corn-on-the-cob. Yum. Busy day- went to the gym, farmer’s market, mailed the little boy a care package to camp, paid my city taxes on my car etc etc etc. Of yeah- saw the gyn the get the girlie bits poked. Whee. They need some chocolate chips in them (not enough choc, too much peanut), but otherwise, they’re good. Big T-storm going on right now. We need the rain. ---

It’s currently 102 degrees here. Yup, 102…my poor doggie is miserable; frankly, so am I. I could have gone from work out to the lake on my neighbor’s boat, but I’m tired and I have to pick my daughter up from work at 9:30 anyway. It’s so hot that I feel sort of sick. I definitely don’t have any appetite. I’m drinking water, but it’s not helping. I’d head to the store to buy a fan, but I’m sure they’re all completely sold out. I’m sorry to read of everyone’s Teh Sick. That does suck. I hope you all get to feeling better very soon. I need to strip down to next to nothing. I’m still sitting here in my work clothes. ---
