# Font Questions - Combining Into Families and Manager Recommendations

At work, I recently started using someone else’s computer (windows XP). Many of her fonts are separated and not in families.

For example, instead of a single Font with all the variants (bold, italic, condensed, etc) on the drop down list, you get Font - Roman, Font - Blk, Font - Condensed, etc. This makes for a massive amount of fonts that is very inconvenient. Is there a way to combine them into families easily?

My second question, which might answer the first, is can anyone recommend a decent _free_ windows based font manager? I don’t need anything too fancy. I’ve found a few online, but didn’t know which one people preferred. I’ve used FontAgent Pro in the past, but my current workplace won’t pay for it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
