# Font sizes

How can I change font size within my post or sig?

Generally speaking, you can’t. Sorry.

But you can make [sup]superscripts[/sup] and [sub]subscripts[/sub] by using {sup}text{/sup}, replacing the curly brackets with straight ones (subscripts are {sub} of course).

If you type,

This sentence has [**sup]superscripts[**/sup].  
This sentence has [**sub]subscripts[**/sub].

You’ll get:

This sentence has [sup]superscripts[/sup].  
This sentence has [sub]subscripts[/sub].

This is the way it’s done when you see small type in the body of a message, or a sig. If it’s the first line of the message (like, “let’s make that a bit easier to read”), it’s usually the subject, which is in the “post subject” field on the reply page, rather than the “your reply” field.
