Right now, in my third trimester, milk is my big thing. BIG thing. At night, I drink at least 2-3 glasses. I was sent cookies by my in-law, and they were just an excuse to drink milk. One cookie was accompanied by multiple glasses of milk.

For a while, I wanted something crisp to drink at night–water with large ice cubes, or a big glass of cran-raspberry juice. Now, it’s milk. Geez, just talking about it I want to go guzzle more.

With my first, it was PB&J. (I still really like peanut butter this time around.) I did have a phase with that pregnancy where I really, REALLY wanted celery; this time, I had a more stereotypical phase and went through two jars of pickles a week for a while. Now, my heartburn cannot handle the thought.

So back up the milk truck!

Olives, peppadews, feta cheese, roasted peppers, hummus, mozarella balls, capers, artichoke hearts, and anything else on the “Mediterranean Bar” at Wegmans (about $7 a pound and worth every penny). Darn it, now I have the craving and I can’t run out and get some because they put the veggies and cheese to bed under white paper coverings around 9 p.m…

OP here.

This is good stuff. I love the ‘freak out if I was running low’ remark.

Oranges? I would love to crave something so healthy.

I am, at this moment, crave-free. I ate half a jar of the pickles I previously mentioned and the remainder sits unmolested in my fridge. I’ll get to it when I get to it.

And I also have a large bottle of tomato juice unopened, on standby.

But for now, I’m good.

My pregnant wife is going for cucumbers and pickles. I keep telling her she’s perpetuating the stereotype, but that doesn’t seem to help.
