So, then, MC, you believe that if an individual cannot totally and completely eliminate all problems in the world, it’s not worth doing anything at all.

You know, I’m tempted to keep this thread at the top of the page endlessly, just to piss off MC.
Hey MC - YOU can sit on your whiney ass and do nothing until someone else solves the hunger problem once and for all, but I’M GOING TO SAVE SOME LIVES TODAY.

Enjoying your holiday meal? Why not share some food with someone who’s starving?

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.
Leslie, shouldn’t that be Yee-HAA instead of Hee-YAA? Or is that just me?

The intended effect was that of a cowboy (or girl) urging the horses on.
And here we go, back up to the top!

MC- on the off chance that you aren’t just posting on this thread to be an annoyance, perhaps this story will help clear up why people click on the Hunger Site.
A man was walking down a deserted beach at sunset. As he walked along, he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean.
As the man approached even closer, he noticed that the other man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time, he was throwing them back into the water.
The man was puzzled. He approached the other man and said, “Good evening, friend. I was wondering what you are doing.”
“I’m throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it’s low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don’t throw them back into the sea, they’ll die up here from lack of oxygen.”
“I understand,” The first man replied, “but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can’t possibly get to all of them. . There are simply too many. And don’t you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast? . Can’t you see that you can’t possibly make a difference?”
The local native smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, “Made a difference to that one.”
Thanks everyone- for making a difference each time YOU clicked.

Zette: awesome story.
You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.
And all it takes is maybe 10 seconds out of your busy online day, and the strength it takes to move ONE finger. How lazy/selfish/stupid does a person have to be to NOT be willing to feed those who are starving?

Okay, I clicked. I’ll pay an extra penny for a loaf of bread or whatever on the chance that this site might be doing what it says (can you tell I’m skeptical of charities?).
I think I’ll also put this in my e-mail signature, as I’m on a LOT of e-mail lists.
And yes, I saved the link so I can click every day! I don’t see much harm in it, and the potential for a lot of good. What’s it gonna hurt?
