Hope you’re up and running again soon **spidey**. I’m glad Mauser is back on his feed **baker**. Nelson has an off day eating every now and then. Usually he makes up for it in spades the next day. Appendages crossed about the position. **Mooooooom** , the dome lasagna sounds suspiciously like cabbage lasagna from the Adkins days. Everything old is new, huh? **sari** , with the proper mordant, red cabbage, as well as beets and beet greens can be used as vegetable dye. Today was a very productive day, thanks to being able to set myself to irk at my desk all day (I was doing sales orders, but managed to get some of my regular duties done in between). I talked to the maintenance guy here at the apartments this afternoon and we have a new manager. I’ll likely take Nelson to the office one afternoon this week to introduce ourselves. He said she’s even set up a little corner of the office with a dog water bowl and toys for visiting canines. We may get along. 😛 ---

I decided the first wrap was too loose & not doing much; however, the rewrap was too tight, tomenting the toes to tingling. I took it off & went for a _short_ walk with my hiking boots, then got the brilliant idea that I still have the walking boot from a couple of years ago. As it’s immobilized in there it feels fine. I shall try another short walk to see how it’s doing. I haven’t walked this little in a day 3½ years. ☹ Last night’s planned dinner was made & consumed tonight. Got the lawnmower down to the shop, it’ll be two weeks before they can even start on it, hope to have it back by the start of April. Some folks have started mowing already, I refuse to accept that mowing my yard is a chore for March. Since I was out, had lunch at Olive Garden and then a short nap and some TV has filled up the rest of the afternoon–soccer practice got cancelled due to the rain. Need to forage for some sustenance soon, but not really hungry (OG may not be primo food, but it does fill you up). All y’all take care. ---

So how the cabbage experiment works. Pour boiling water over 2 cups of chopped red cabbage and let it sit for ten minutes or so. Pour off the water into a measuring cup, it should be purple. Line up ten cups in which we poured various clear liquids (water, salt water, vinegar, sparkling white grape juice, sprite, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, hand soap, witch hazel, doggie ear cleaning solution). Pour the cabbage juice into the cups and see what color it turns. Acids are vaious shades of red, purple, and violet, neutral is bluish purple, and base turns blue, green, or yellow. My kitchen is a mess, he is supposed to clean it up. Hope your foot/ankle feels better soon **Spidey**. Spring break is next week for Frostburg and everybody is supposed to go home. They can come back the following week, but class will be online until at least April 6. Yes **MetalMouse** it is for the coronavirus. I had a friend call me tonight, she was supposed to start a new job this week and can’t because of the virus. She’s in CA, and very upset because she is out of irk. I’m irritated at the emails I am getting from places like BestBuy, letting me know how much they care and are putting hand sanitizers in the stores. Not as irritating as my insurance agent leaving me a vm reminding to set my clock ahead, but still irritating. I don’t need fake concern from big business when I know damm well all they care about is making money. It’s fine that they want to make money, it’s what business is supposed to do, just don’t blow smoke up my ass about it. And just be a damn business, I don’t want a personal relationship with you. Good luck with the job **Cupcakes.** The whole house smells from the doggie ear cleaning solution. It’s not a horrible smell, but it is everywhere. Better than dead mouse I guess. I knew I was jinxing myself when I said I hadn’t seen or heard anything for a while. My son will take care of cleaning out the trap, probably after I go up to bed. The dogs will go with me and won’t be trying to investigate while he is dealing with it. Now I have a whole mess of cabbage I have to do something with. I still had half a head from when I made the turkey soup, and now I have more than a half a head of red cabbage, as well as the two cups that sat in boiling water. I may just dump that in with what is left of the soup. ---

My mother said, if she cleaned the house, washed windows, washed and ironed and re-hung the curtains, he’d look around and say, “Gee, the lawn sure needs to be watered.” If she raked the leaves, weeded the flower beds, and watered both the front and back lawns, he’d gripe because the bathroom needed painting. Confusion reigns. I never saw but one MMP and must know who started the second so I can put that to rest. We went to Miami today for a Heart Rhythm Clinic which was an exam by an RN, a million questions, blood work and a lecture on how much salt is in food. Then we met with the cardiologist’s nurse practitioner who went over meds, sent in new scripts. It was educational. We stopped at Cracker Barrel again and it was just OK. That will probably be our last trip there for a while. Hubs labs were all good. Liver is totally back to normal from the poisoning and whatever was measuring heart function was way better. Great news on all fronts. It was a nine hour trip start to finish. Came home and made some chicken and rice and played with the hellion. I am abed as I have a 9am CPR, AED, First Aid class in the morning. And tomorrow is maid day which means getting up early to do things before I leave. Our dishwasher has sprung a leak so that means washing dishes by hand :eek: until a replacement is bought, delivered and installed. We have had too many plumbing issues lately. We want to replace both toilets and the washer and dryer soon too. I have lost a lot of money in the 401K in the last couple weeks so I dropped my contribution back down to the matching 3%. I know one isn’t supposed to do that but I ain’t throwing good money after bad. **Bumba** your BP sounds like hubs. Always low but sometimes scary low. He says “no wonder I feel like shit”. Food porn for Bekkers: I made no-salt added navy beans. I used no-sodium chicken broth, leftovers from recent meals (chicken and pork, completely defatted and diced), bits of bacon busted off the slices of low-sodium bacon we factor in to Mr VOW’s daily allocation, lots of diced onion and celery, and Lowry’s no-salt seasoning. I also baked the requisite Malt-o-Meal muffins, using no salt and a sodium-free baking powder. Dinner was surprisingly good! ~VOW ---

Well, DH’s modified duty assignment has ended. Apparently, the non-profit found his limitations just too difficult (I fail to see how, given his description of his duties). He’s still getting worker’s comp, but unless his employer finds work for him by the end of the month, there goes his medical coverage. (grump) Hugs, prayers, etc. to all as needed or wanted. ---

Last night, \*\*FCD \*\*declared he can’t take this keto stuff any more - he said his gut has been upset for the whole time. It may or may not be related, but he’s dealing with enough for his upcoming surgicals, so we’re resorting to a more traditional WW/Diabetic exchange type of eating plan. Which suits me fine, because it’s what I’m comfortable with. But now I’ve got these bags of almond flour and coconut flour - WTF am I going to do with them? Maybe I’ll pass then and the cookbook to my sister. Problem solved. Speaking of whom, he’s just left for his day of imaging - MRI, CAT, x-rays. It’s got to be done in Prince Frederick because that hospital is part of the same network as the one where his surgicals will be done. Not a huge deal, tho it is about 40-ish minutes away. But it’s the last big step (I think) before the April 28th event. \*\*Butters \*\*- I’m not a money manager by any means, but I do know that when the market is down, that’s the time to dump money in, so when it grows again (and it will) you’ll more than recover. I had a coworker - a guy in his 30s of all things - pull everything out of the C fund and dump it in the G after it had lost a bunch during an earlier drop. Had he left it alone, he’d have been set really well. Just a thought… Yes, it’s Wiggle Giggle day! And, from the looks of the long range forecast, the last non-rainy day we can expect for a couple of weeks. Or not, knowing the reliability of weather guessers. Roxy is still sleep, so I shall jump in the shower shortly and be dressed before she wakes. SIL will be cleaning their family room downstairs (YAY) so I’ll have Roxy most of the day. Hope I can squeeze in a little time to practice signing numbers. That’s tougher than I’d expected. In fact, the whole thing is tougher than I thought it would be - wonder if it’s my old brain?? Happy Hump Day! It’s 43 degrees outside, and the sun is somewhat shining. Got the brats off to daycare early. **Vow** I could tell some mother stories. Brunch was Perdue chicken nuggets with Sweet Baby Ray’s honey mustard dipping sauce. And I didn’t have to share with the dogs! My son did clean up the kitchen yesterday, but he piled all the dishes in the sink. I ran one load this morning, and I could probably run another. I got the bills paid, kept thinking I forgot something, but I had paid it last week. I have to send my son all the pics of his food experiments so he can turn them in with his reports. Proof that he did them, or that he at least did something. I need to put everything back together that I pulled out while KonMariing. I have to drive him to school and try to remember to take some all purpose cleaner with me to clean the inside of the truck while I’m waiting for him. I should do some laundry, we’ll see. I keep looking at my To Do List and feel overwhelmed. Oh **Butters** , I was the one who started the second MMP. The first one wasn’t there when I started, but it took me so long to get it typed out that somebody else slipped in ahead of me. ---

Well, NyQuil + aspirin + Dristan apparently knock me out, because I slept past 10am today without any trouble. Of course, that makes getting anything done tough, but that’s the life of a retired lazy man… Got the paper in and need to fix some lunch, still want to take an extra chair and a bunch of plastic storage bins to the local second-hand store, but there is no rush on that. No soccer today, so nothing much in the plans. Read all but absorbed less, so general hugs, tears, attaboys/girls all around to everyone. Now to solve the paper’s sudoku’s… ---

Only option that would keep him with his current doctor would be COBRA, which we cannot afford. I’m told his employer is trying very hard to find him another modified-duty thing.
