One-quarter cup (60 mL) of real maple syrup is 220 calories. The fake kind, I don’t know about; I won’t have it in my house.
There are what I call “busy housewife” recipes on the Internet for making pancake syrup at home; they usually involve hot water and tons of white sugar. Yeccch! :mad:
The only beans I can stand straight from a can, cold are Bush’s Vegetarian (no fat lump).
I’ve generally found that most non-Americans don’t understand “biscuits and gravy” (biscuit alone causes problems for English-speakers elsewhere). Essentially, it is “hot slop on mushy bread.”
Oreos were attempted and failed in China. I lived there during the initial release. They were reformulated and took off quite well. The standard Oreo was just a total bomb there.
When I was living in Japan, sometimes coworkers and I received packages of snacks and candy mailed to us by friends and family in the US. It’s my recollection that cinnamon flavored candy (e.g. Red Hots, Atomic Fireballs, Hot Tamales) did not go over well with our Japanese colleagues. AFAIK there isn’t any equivalent Japanese candy.
