# Foot Pedal--Is there a program I can use to map it to something?

So I recently picked up a really cool foot pedal that allows me to assign it to a keyboard button–in my case, I mapped it to “L” using the software it came with so I can easily use a keyboard shortcut in a program I use without having to actually use the keyboard. The only problem is that the software crashes my computer about once a day.

I was wondering if there’s any other general software out there that can monitor USB devices (such as my foot pedal) and allow me to remap them?

Every piece of software I know of works with stuff that maps itself as a game controller. Can you reveal the brand/model of pedal?

It’s called a “USB Foot Switch” (model: FS-101). Link here (top listing):

It’s made by some Chinese company, so I don’t think there’s much documentation for it…
