For a million bucks and I get to have pets? Yeah I think I could do it. I could take the time to learn a language or new skills that I’ve always wanted, catch up on reading, movies, TV shows that I’ve missed. A year’s a long time but if the result is $1,000,000 then it would be worth it. ---

I’m pretty social (I’m out with friends at least 4-5 times per week), but this is still an easy “heck yes.” A year is nothing. The hard decision would be whether to stay a second year for another million. ---

But yeah, I forgot that this counted as a job since it sounded so relaxing. In any case, if I can make extra money from publishing a book afterwards, I’ll count it as a bonus. ---

This setup is not dissimilar to both my current and previous careers. I’d have to talk with my spouse, but I suspect that as long as \*\*Ms. Attack \*\*gets access to the accounts while I’m in the hoosegow we’re good to go. ---

The only rub for me is being limited to an acre of “outside space”. If the offer allowed access to uninhabited natural areas (mountains, beaches, etc) I’d go for it. Otherwise, probably not. ---

The rule of thumb is that an acre is about the size of an American football field and maybe roughly similar to a soccer field. It is big enough to do outdoor exercise including a limited amount of bike riding but you would have to go in loops. You could easily do things like gardening or kite flying and have lots of space left over. It is plenty of room to walk a pet around in if that is allowed. It is limiting but certainly not tiny at all. ---

There was a time during my single days when I might have been able to do this. But now that I’m married – no way. Even if only for my wife’s sake. She gets upset when I’m gone for a weeklong business trip. ---
