Thanks for that, **Twisty**. As you can imagine I have it circled on my calendar and look forward to the annual ticker tape parades, fife ‘n’ drum bands, firework displays and fly-past by Concorde. Actually, nothing seems to have happened. Again. ---

Y’know, this year I don’t think I’ve seen any news presenters wearing red roses. Kal - Who lives in a country where St. George’s day is normally celebrated by the local news programme running a feature about people not knowing that it is St. George’s day. ---

Isn’t that supposed to go something like "…and then I was having a little scout round in the potting shed and I found an old lance, which as it turned out was the _actual_ lance St. George used to slay the Dragon which was nice" ---

Can’t say I noticed St George’s Day. It seems sad that there is a general opinion that us English can’t be trusted with patriotism; that it always boils over into racism and holiganism, especially when mixed with alcohol.
