What is the exact order for sucession (is that the right word?) to the throne once Queen Elizabeth dies. ( I just read an article where she says she won’t abdicate “This is _not_ The Netherlands” she says. So now it would be Charles William Henry Andrew(?) For you experts who’s next and how many (or how far down the line can you go-See only if you got time to kill)? ---

Oh God - just let the woman get all silly, old and demented on her throne before she finally kicks the bucket and her by then 75 year old son Charles can shakingly take her place. I’m sure THAT will reaffirm the trust the Brits already have in thei Royal Family 🙂 I’ll take the Netherlands anyday: our queen (Beatrix) is currently some 60, 62 years old and I’m sure she will hand the scepter to her son, Prince Willem-Alexander (who will be named King Willem IV) before she turns 70 and, moreover, before HE turns 40. I’ve always thought that hereditary monarchy was valuable chiefly in that reminds people that the universe can’t be run by popular vote. “Kings die, and leave their crowns to their sons. Anybody have the time or inclination to take it any further than the heirs of George VI’s kids? I know that the King of Norway is in there somewhere, and that Prince Philip is in line for the throne in his own right as a descendent of Queen Victoria, although he’d figuratively have to be the only survivor of a deranged mass murderer attacking the Royal Family Reunion to get there. ---
