Jab, I’m fairly sure it’s not copyrighted. I know of several different companies that sell them. Plus, as I think somebody around here has mentioned, some Christians have stickers with a Jesus fish eating a Darwin fish. If the Darwin one were copyrighted, I doubt they’d let these other folks get away with that. Lib: Yes, there are other threads. So what? Are we only allowed to talk to them about evolution? If they believe the Shroud hoax, I will point to all the flaws in that as well. In another case I pointed out the fallacy of a guy’s conspiracy theories. The point is showing these folks things that they otherwise might never have seen. Some will never change their minds. Others might be interested and actually learn something. As I’ve noted before, I have not lied about anything over there, nor will I. I have not seen anybody from this board lie there. Heck, as noted above, Jab is even using a Darwin fish as his signature now! ---

I finally checked this place out. (When you’ve got Pathology to study, you’ll take any port in a storm.) RTF, I have no quibble when someone wants to discuss any part of the Bible for what it is: Ancient literature and fiction with a little history thrown in. But if you look at their posts, they keep saying that _John_ is PROOF POSITIVE that there IS a God and He loves us. I don’t think so either, Falcon…most of us both write and type better than that. Besides, his LBMB profile gives his website; it’s certainly one I’ve never seen before. Speaking of Web sites, I’ll be looking forward to seeing your biker-chick tattoo! I did put in a post about tolerance over there, to give him some support and draw fire away, FWIW. But I think it has to be a hit-and-run sort of thing; I’ve stayed away for about a week and a half now, and I think it’s better that way. My spirit can only take so much of that darkness. ---

jab, you do have to consider where you’re visiting. They _are_ Christians over there; of course they believe in God, and when the Bible says ‘God is love,’ they believe it. If one is a member of any faith that has scriptures, one takes those scriptures to be reasonably authoritative with respect to the nature of the deity. That’s what religion is like. Now, I go over there and point out that there sure seem to be internal contradictions in the Bible, and that the Bible and the physical testimony of this planet which they and I believe God made seem to also contradict. But I’m making a point that one can be a Christian and not believe the Bible was meant to be a science textbook, that it may include stories not meant as history, and that even in the parts that are intended as history, exactitude may be an unreasonable expectation; it’s not the main purpose of even the historical books of the Bible. But you can’t expect Christians in a discussion on a Christian web site to regard the Gospel on the same footing as any other first-century writing. That’s absurd. ---

And I may. I dunno. The creation/evolution discussions have died, apparently because we kept shooting them down and they couldn’t shoot us down (at least, that’s my considered opinion of why), so they stopped replying. Plus, well, it’s gotten fairly repetitive, in part because the idiot admins there delete anything that’s a little old (or, apparently, a little controversial), meaning nothing we say will stick around. All in all, I think they will just outlast us. They can make the same arguments over and over again, and unless we save everything we post, we’ll have to go thru it again and again. As I’ve said before, it only takes a few seconds to make an erroneous statement, but it can take hours to point out all the errors. So we’ll see how long I stick around. Who knows, maybe I’ll jump back in at some later date.
