“Satan and the Roman Catholic Whore ruled the world”. Aha! That’s why I haven’t had my share of the world’s wealth! Haven’t whored around enough! What a moron. I just can’t believe that anybody actually reads and believes this stuff in any way, shape, or form. Has anybody actually met someone who offered them a Chick tract, or am I just in the wrong part of the country? I saw them on the counter once in a Korean deli, put the stuff I was going to buy down, turned on my heel and walked out. But that’s the only time I’ve ever seen them in the wild. ---

I have a question for folks who hammer on the “gay is sinful” button: Why don’t you condemn anything else? These putative “pro-family” Christian groups like the Family Research Group and Focus on the Family harass gay people and anyone who is gay positive, (ignoring the fact that gay people have families). Yet Jesus said nothing about homosexuality. However, Jesus did address greed, saying that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. Yet these groups have stayed mute on the dishonesty of companies that defraud their employees and investors, like Worldcom and Enron. They have said nothing about Bush’s taxcut that gives greater benefits to the rich than it does to the middle class or poor, despite Jesus’s teachings about being just to the poor among us. They have said nothing about the morality of starting a war under false pretenses, despite Jesus’s teachings about honesty and peacemaking. **His4Ever** and her pals ignore everything Jesus taught in favor of hammering on one topic he said nothing about. And given the lies **His** likes to spout about gay folks (and Mormons and Catholics. . . ), she obviously chooses to ignore Biblical injunctions against bearing false witness. **His4ever** does it-because she knows we’ll call her on it, and then she can throw a little hissyfit about how “abused” she is here. It’s her standard MO. I mean, d’uh, she knows the atmosphere around here, she knows that constantly beating us over the head with GOD SAYS SO AND YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!!! is only going to get a :rolleyes: at best, but she still does it. And then goes sobbing to the Pit, saying, YOU GUYS ARE MEAN! I’M TAKING MY TOYS AND GOING HOME!!! Leaves for three weeks, pops back up, does the SAME DAMN THING. And it’s always about gays, fundies, Catholics, etc. It’s never about helping the poor, prayer requests, Christian love and decency. Oh, and **His**? If you plan on responding to my post by saying something like, “Well, I guess I should expect it, after all, you guys just never listen to anything I say,” then don’t bother. It’s manipulative and it’s immature. Grow the fuck up. ---

Jesus Farking Christ, people. I say this as a not-particularly-devout-Episcopalian. Do you really have to rise to the bait for every sock-puppet that comes along? Are you so concerned with **His-4-Ever** that you have to pop up and attack her in a resurrected thread that (justly) died months ago. Honestly, whatever sock dragged this up was just trying to start something. Yes, **His** has built her entire life around what she has been told about the contents of a certain book. She hasn’t read it, but she knows what’s in there. Because her Preacher told her, or her friends told her, or whatever. Fine. We’ve DONE THIS. It’s over with her. We can’t make a scrape in her ignorance, let alone a dent. And we’ve chased her away. Many times. That’s not Christian action. Not my way, anyway. I prefer to engage people in rational discussion instead of flinging insults about. But you “highly rational” people, so full of wrath and “justice” decide to resurrect a pogrom because a sock-puppet made one post. I thought better of the lot of you. ---
