We met at work, at her interview but I wasn’t interested in her at that time. I was going through a painful divorce (painful because it was her leaving me, very suddenly from a loving 10+ year marriage with three young kids).

My current wife and I, we eventually became good work friends, and then later we became good outside-of-work friends. Three years after her interview we finally started dating. I guess I knew on that first date where we just had great, relaxed conversation, for hours. We were so comfortable together, and for me it was like coming home. We dated for three years before we got married. It took me that long because I was feeling a little snake bit from my first marriage. She was patient and she waited for me to see the light.

My wife and I have been married now for 12 years and counting. We are best of friends.

I’ll take that as a lesson. Counting: 14 months left.

We met in May when she was engaged to someone else, were living together by September, engaged by December and married the next June.

It was letting her decide that the engagement was a mistake that was the hardest thing. I didn’t want to convince her and be the one who caused it to end, so I had to wait for her to decide on her own.

You should repost that story every time some woman/girl posts that her BF is inattentive and plays her for yo-yo girl and should she stay or should she go.

I’ve maintained for some time now that, if a dude is seriously into you, he will close the fucking deal. And your story is a perfect example of that. If you were not seriously into her, you’d have bailed on the snowbank walk about ten minutes into it, if you’d even left the comfort of your own warm home.

Our first kiss was a couple months after we met.

I remember thinking the next morning that this was the proverbial ‘it.’

That will be 26 years ago next week. Seems to be working out pretty well so far. 🙂

I’m a guy- if there’s such a thing as love at first sight, I had it bad.

From the day we met when we were 18, I couldn’t get her out of my mind. We dated for about 6 months before I expressed my love, and not long after that the ‘M’ word entered the conversation. We were too young, but looking back I think I knew within days of meeting her.

And we’re happily married today.
