Inspired by [this thread.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=369905) What kind of hair management (apart from the tuft on the noggin) do you prefer? Werewolf? Hairless? What degree of in between? And, OK. Specifically, the netherbits. Do you prefer a clean shaven shaft or is the stray tress alright with you? Bald pills? Just a neat … uh … trim? ---

I can’t stand a hairy guy. I just don’t like the feel or look of it. I vastly prefer a shaved chest, face, and…netherbits. A little scruff is OK, on occasion. If you have to shave your back or ass, you’re probably not for me! ---

Depends on the guy. Some guys look better with a nice hairy chest, others look better shaved. My BF is one of the ones that looks better shaved, face and chest. Netherbits not totally, but well trimmed. He prefers me the same, though I think I look good with a touch of facial hair. (till my mood changes and I feel like being clean shaven) ---

Maybe I just am an old-fashioned gal, but I think hairless naughtybits look bizarre. I’ve never had a close encounter with someone who was bald below the belt, but I find the appearance of bare adult genitalia to be a turn-off. ---

As memory serves, I like(d) smooth bodies. Some hair is fine but too much is a turnoff. From porn I can see there’s a certain appeal and growing trend towards trimming the hedges but unless it’s a rain forest down there it doesn’t bother me (or I don’t think it would… ah it’s been such a long dry season…) ---

I prefer hairy but not too hairy. I wish my SO had a bit more in the way of chest hair, actually, but I don’t get the shaven genitals thing either. It’s not like I shave mine, why should he do his? Unless he wanted to of course. ---

If I had to choose between the extremes, I guess I’d take no hair, but some hair is so much more masculine. I know a guy who started shaving his head as soon as his hairline started to recede. That was an excellent idea. Has a lot of ink covering his upper torso and so shaves his chest. Another good idea. Then one day I notice he’s got stubble on his knuckles. WTF? He spends god knows how long or how often shaving every sign of hair on his body. Not that he doesn’t look good, but he’d look just as good with a few hairs on the back of his hands (he gets a pass for shaving his palms 😛 ) ---

I think guys should have hair where they’re supposed to have hair, but if it’s longer than an inch, it looks a lot nicer trimmed & groomed. C’mon, we’re not talking gender oppression here. Just groom yourself. Back & shoulders - trim it. Ass-crack? Especially that area right from your ass-crack up to the small of your back. God, just shave that. ---

Guys should only shave their face. Period. No bald heads, no bald chests, and NO bald down there. Trimming is much appreciated (and I’l return the favor), but otherwise leave it alone! As far as the rest of the body, a patch on the chest and scattering of hair elsewhere, but if its thick enough to run a hairbrush through then thats a major turn off. ---

I’m not terribly fond of beards (fortunately, my husband’s college experimentation with growing one convinced him that he looks dippy when he tries). I like long head-hair. I have a certain fondness for fuzzy forearms. Shaved genital regions strike me as one of the most bizarre concepts ever concocted on the planet (though I know people who like the feel). Beyond that, I don’t particularly care. If it’s a fellow I’m interested in, I’m likely to appreciate his body how it is; if it’s a fellow I’m not interested in, then my opinion of his fur is just plain irrelevant. I think body-shaving is a silly amount of effort to expect of anyone; if someone wants to do so for their own preferences, I’ll file that in “Your kink is okay” and not think more of it, but _I’m_ not gonna ask. ---

With the exception of the mono-brow, I’m pretty happy with all configurations of body hair. I do think a totally hairless body is a bit freaky; however, I’ve heard that shaving “down there” makes the man bits look _bigger_, so if a guy is concerned about that he could keep that in mind. The mono-brow is terrible tho - trim that thing into two, SVP. ---

I am so pro-facial hair. I have rarely met a man I didn’t think would look better with a nice goatee. it’s to the point that I can hardly take men without facial hair seriously. chest hair I like alright, but I could really go either way. I guess I’d prefer some to none, as long as it wasn’t just little wiry lonesome strands here & there & about the nipples. seriously, just shave that; it’s doing nothing for you. the netherlands… ahhh, back in my hetero days, I did prefer a clean shaven scrotum. I just can’t get into putting my mouth around something that’s going to result in long scraggly hairs choking me or sticking in my teeth. trimming is fine too. back hair, eh, I don’t really care about a stray or a small patch here and there… but if it’s a rat’s nest, nooooooooo thank you. ass hair is kind of unavoidable in men, but again, if I could knit a small sweater out of it, I might just have a sudden urge to go turn my oven off. forever. ---
