**Reeder** , there’s a big difference between gross and net. The entertainment industry has shamelessly exploited this difference. Many big budget motion pictures make very little actual profit at the end, even though everybody with an interest in the film obviously gets their cut. I know a man who sold his life story to the movies without fully understanding this distinction. He agreed to take a share of the net profits. The movie was a huge hit, but he made surprisingly little money. So, when you say Moore is just, “making a salary”, well, that’s a structured part of the gross deal. Only smart Hollywood business. Moore will do quite well with this film. Not to impugn him, but don’t read too much into this. ---

[hijack] Your friend shouldn’t feel too much a fool over this; even if he’d understood the difference, there’s little chance he ever could have gotten a share of the gross. Studios don’t give out gross points freely. A big name star or director _might_ be offered a cut of the gross, but it’s quite rare for anyone else to be given anything better than a percentage of the net. [/hijack] ---

Yep, Michael Moore is getting richer and richer by the minute. The movie was not even entertaining, by any means, but it was a “must see” for all liberal followers, and a “let’s check out the BS” for all conservatives. How could one NOT see it??? Yes, Michael Moore is going to be incredibly rich. And at what cost? An answer for posterity, which in the past has been woefully ignored after the fact. Not too different than all the rest of the “elite.” So, MM found out the formula for success. Tell people what they want to hear instead of “the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” Now Michael is one of those elite that he rails against. Wish he had a clone to do an exposé on him! I despise Bush for making money on lies. I despise Moore for making money on lies. I despise Kerry for making money on lies. I applaud anyone who gets rich using the principles of helping his/her fellow man/woman or of spreading Truth. Yes, I’m an idealist. I’m not a Republican. Japan was allied to Germany long before they attacked us. The three Axis allies were invading pretty much anywhere they could with not that much resistance and didn’t look like they had any intention of stopping.
