I don’t agree with almost anything **WillFarnaby** says, but I’ve never doubted that he actually believes in that nonsense. Nor do I doubt that his willingness to argue his beliefs keeps the board intellectually honest (and not incidentally, he is correct about things from time to time). He’s like that card-carrying communist guy we used to have; sure, he was mostly a crackpot, but he was a consistent crackpot. ---

He made a great many antiwar statements during the campaign and maligned the frothing warmonger John McCain. That was enough to put him above Hillary at the time, who was calling for a US enforced no-fly zone in Syria. A position that would have required tens of thousands of boots on the ground. Indeed after he took a turn toward hiring warmongers I backed off the claim and in the end supported a Clinton win. ---

The main sign I have of him being fake is that he completely changed at one point. He used to make more sense. But, frankly, he’s not offensive enough for me to give a shit. I put him on ignore after a while, and then it doesn’t really matter. People seem to slowly be getting the hint of just not replying to him, so I don’t see his stuff. If he actually provided something of worth, it might be different, but it really seems he doesn’t. He just makes people mad. ---

I can’t speak for **octopus** , but my guess is he’s noticed your wrath toward others comes off heavy-handed & often enough that one could be forgiven if they got a vibe of someone who lives in a glass house. If you toned it down some, he probably wouldn’t have brought it up. And it does seem out of character for him to do that because inserting extraneous gossip could get him accused of hypocrisy. That is kind of what he’s usually campaigning against. So maybe that does or doesn’t tell you something. I don’t quite know enough to know why it has stuck other than I can see why someone might want to believe in the “People who live in glass houses” adage. ---

I think it’s likely **WillF** ’s stated beliefs about politics are sincere. It’s his attempts at analysis (and often what appears to be mind-reading) of liberals/progressives that I find hilarious, and what keeps me from blocking him – it’s as if he was a Christian whose only conception and understanding of non-Christians came from Jack Chick tracts. I hope he sticks around, extreme hostility and all, just based on the entertainment value of how hilariously wrong he usually is when he tries to pontificate about those he very clearly despises. **doorhinge** , on the other hand (along with a few others), don’t contribute anything at all to the board, IMO. Nothing amusing and nothing informative. ---
