The Bright Young People were an English society set that liked to have costume parties made it into the press. They were entitled, excessive, childish, and remarkably insensitive. In 1927, the year folowng the General Strike, and on the heels of the 1927 Trade Disputes and Trade Unions Act that prohibited secondary strikes and mass picketing, they held a Beggar’s Ball. They had jumped the shark by 1931, when they were roundly castigated in the press following their Red and White Ball, which was held during the Jarrow Hunger March to London. Eight decades later, we have the same behaviour by yet another entitled group, putting on a Beggars’ Ball while Occupy Wall Street is taking place to protest the behaviour that has led to so very many people being homeless, unemployed, under-employed, or unable to get ahead. The more things change, the more they remain the same. ---

How about they have to watch a documentary in Hell, narrated by Terry Gross, that’s by Ken Burns; so it’s an endless, barely perceptible zoom-out from a sepia photo of Frederick Douglass; but it’s also an Errol Morris documentary; so whenever Terry pauses it plays slow, demented circus music? ---

And the [firm in question](http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/09/business/09foreclose.html?_r=1) has not just an adult, but a LEGAL responsibility to follow proper procedures to establish that they even have the RIGHT to foreclose on a property before doing so. They have been sanctioned for not doing so, in “scores of cases.” Instead, they decided they’d rather throw a party making fun of those they may or may not be properly bringing foreclosure proceedings against. I don’t know about you, but my sympathies are definitely with the scores of people who have had to deal with the reality of losing their home when they weren’t at fault at all. ---

They should have had someone dressed as a robot to represent robo-signing. Another as a ghost of homes foreclosed when the bank did not have clear title ,since it was chopped up and sold off in many CDOs.
