Detroit City Airport has always lived in the shadow of the much larger & nicer Detroit Metro Airport, but it used to have regular passenger flights. These days, it only hosts private planes, and given Detroit’s financial troubles, it’s conceivable that it might be closed for good in the near future.
Looking at those old desert strips makes me wish I had a Cessna 170 to fly to them in. (Who am I fooling? I so want something that flies, I can taste it!) And it makes me miss the desert, and the exploring I’d do on weekends.
If you look at a map of Cosmo Parkin Columbia, Mo it’s easy to see the old runways have been turned into roads and parking areas.
