A work colleague is at risk of losing face to her brother unless a half remembered song can be identified; so I wondered if the wonderful people at The Dope might be able to help! It’s an indie type song from pre-1985 (she remembers hearing it on a trip to Iceland in August 1985 which dates it from that period). Possibly on the Factory Records label, although a search of this doesn’t pull up any identifiable titles. The main thing she remembers is that it features a sample from the Billy Wilder film Stalag 17, in particular these lines: (Sefton) The Germans know where Dunbar is. (Hoffy) How do they know? (Sefton) You told them, Hoffy. I know it’s not much to go on but it might mean something to someone, many thanks! ---

That search shows songs that sampled the _song_ Stalag 17. Searching that site for samples of the _movie_ is no help (it returns a single result for a 4-second between-song track on a punk rock album from 1995). OP, your description doesn’t ring any bells. Sorry.
