Iā€™ve been confident about Obamaā€™s chances with Hillary since Super Tuesday, but I think the fight with McCain is going to be tougher. Even I have to admit, McCain is a likable enough character and, even though I made the $100 Bricker bet (two years ago, I think) that a Democrat would be elected president in 2008, Iā€™m not so sure I would make that bet today. I have my fingers crossed, and Obama is my preferred candidate (by far), but itā€™s going to be close. ---

My grandsons and I watched Mr. Obamaā€™s speech and I told them they were watching history being made. But all the time I listened and watched and admired his grace and good manners, I wished that Ms. Clinton had been one thousandth as gracious. By giving the speech she did, she managed to take some of the splendour away from a great moment. I was aghast and disgusted at her speech and I do believe that Mr. Obamaā€™s manner betrayed disappointment in the midst of his triumph. He was subdued, I thought. She spoiled it. And what for? Itā€™s hard to think anything except that sheā€™s a madwoman. Still, heā€™s the man of the hour and I think heā€™s going to make a good president. Congratulations to America. ---

Heā€™s packed the 17k plus stadium with an additional 15k outside. Not only that But heā€™s now tread on McCainā€™s turf. McCain has to accept his nomination right there - Obama beat him to it.
