It seems she has said sentencing guidelines suggest 30 years to life, but she also says she’s not married to the guidelines. ---

Judge says, “Defense wants me to acknowledge his accomplishments as mayor. That is what he was elected to do. … He chose to waste his talents on personal aggrandizement and enrichment” when he had so much talent that coulld have benefited the city." I predict a life sentence. Make an example of this clown. ---

“30 years to life”? What does that mean in terms of how many years he would actually be in prison? Personally I doubt if it means anywhere near 30 years. ---

I think I read (sorry no cite) that federal sentences you typically serve 85% of the time sentenced, so if he gets the 30 years, it’ll be at least 25 and a half years. ---

Maybe I misread the 30 years to life portion of the blogging. It appears she has now sentenced him to 28 years, which is what the prosecution asked for. ---

Judge just said "The governent has asked for a sentence of 28 years. I believe that is in fact what his sentence should be. " ---
