I used to get all those type emails from my sister and boss. I replied with links to Snopes debunking the email. Eventually they stopped sending them to me. But… they never stopped believing them. Swiftboating worked against John Kerry. Expect more of it this election. ---

It worked against Kerry because of his failure to use the work “fuck” in a sentance. For instance, “Motherfucker, I spent four fucking months on a fucking Fast Partrol Boat, where I was awarded a Bronze Star, Silver Star, and was wounded three fucking times, all of which is in my official military record. I then returned and risked my future career by protesting the fucking conduct of the United States in what would ultimately be recognized as a fucking futile war. Who the living fuck are you to be questioning my fucking service, you horse-fucking son of a fuck?” Clearly, Kerry needed Samuel L. Jackson as his spokesperson, although if he’d let his wive speak for him more she would have been a suitable second. Stranger ---

That and his failure to give a swift and strong reply to the accusations before the damage had been done- a reply that could have included some generous use of the word “fuck.” I wouldn’t be confirmed about that with Obama since he announced the results of the bin Laden raid himself the details of what happened have been widely reported. This stuff is just complaining long after the fact. ---

The National Geographic documentary really dissected what happened. Of course, to the Teabaggers, NG is part of the left-wing media conspiracy but we digress. Anyway, IIRC, Obama was scheduled to play 18 holes of golf that day. As others have noted, the WH was paranoid of acting as if anything out of the ordinary was going on. They made every effort to disguise the fact that something big was going down including the pizzas and the way the cars of those in the know arrived at the WH. Obama cut the golf down to 9 holes which they were worried would raise a flag. “Obama always plays 18.” The easiest thing to do would have been to cancel the golf but the WH wanted things to appear as normal as possible. It’s amazing that someone who is as accomplished as a Navy Seal can be so stupid. I’m glad he’s an ex-Seal. Obama is far smarter and more accomplished than this asshole. Somebody send him to the Pit. ---
