That’s funny since he came 4th in Iowa and 5th in neighboring overwhelmingly white New Hampshire. His candidacy and political obituary was being written after that by commentators, journalists and even this own site. Biden staked his candidacy on South Carolina. The majority of democratic voters there are black. He was vindicated. ---

Most people don’t vote. No one is vindicated. The entire system exists roughly between “active disenfranchisement” and “televised personality contest.” Being in any way proud of the results of such a system is sad in and of itself. Giving yourself a victory lap for this failure of imagination is sadder still. ---

There are people in the streets waving guns because they’re bored and don’t believe in infectious diseases and the most that can be mustered by the “opposition” is the insincere celebration of a bunch of disinterested TV zombies delivering the candidate least likely to materially inconvenience them so that you can stop being sad about the buffoon on television. ---
