While I was still trying to discover if any of my friends (fortunately none) or business associates has been murdered by religious fundamentalists, he decided the time was right to say that I, and people of my beliefs, were at least partially responsible for the attacks. So on the **villa** vs. Falwell front, I’d say that asswipe started it. ---

Not me. He needs to experience an epiphany, where he recognizes that the things he did while vice president quialify him to be regarded as a monster. And once he recognizes that he was a monster, I’d like for him to wallow in remorse about that for several years. I don’t want him to die until he has spent months BEGGING for death’s sweet release. ---

All political views aside, it’s rather amazing from a medical standpoint that Cheney is still with us. The man had his first heart attack in 1978! He had three more attacks, the last in 2000, then spent eight years “a heartbeat away” from the world’s most stressful job. To use a phrase originally applied to another heart-attack survivor, he is cold water in a tight place. ---

I also think that many of the conservatives here who are smugly pontificating about how vindictive and inhumane some liberal posters are being would be just as nasty themselves if we were talking about the illness of somebody **they** considered truly evil or dangerous. I doubt many of them would be “setting aside political disagreement” to express good wishes to, say, Hugo Chavez if he were hospitalized with chest pains, for example.
