I’ve had problems getting into the forums twice in the last two days for hours at a stretch. Is it just me? ---

Not that I’ve noticed. However the forums were inaccessible at around 1:30 EST this afternoon, not sure how long the problem had been ongoing but it resolved itself in about ten minutes after I noticed. It was a strange one – the site was still up but “[boards.straightdope.com](http://boards.straightdope.com)” (but not the main “[straightdope.com](http://straightdope.com)”) had been dropped by the DNS servers. ---

I was unable to reach the site since at least noon until about 13:30 for me. ---

The newest mod is in charge of feeding the hamsters, so this was all Spice Weasel’s fault. Ok, seriously. There was a DNS issue today that has been fixed. The boards may not work for everyone though until the DNS fix gets propagated out across the internet (that’s just how DNS works). But we are back up now for most folks. ---
