Work has been interesting. My aged chariot Unit 5, the 1999 GMC Suburban live truck is on the chopping block - it’s replacement will be built in the next few months. I will \*not \*be given the replacement (the new truck will be a $300k satellite combo truck). I am \*slightly \*bummed out, having dealt with a old and problematic vehicle for so long a new shiny toy would have been fun. Instead I will be given another used non-live truck to use as my crew car to work out of. Given that I don’t pay for any of it, I really can’t complain. Free is free. Strangely I am not really interested in a new crew car. The parent corporation has set a fairly low maximum price for vehicles which has caused the station to buy smaller vehicles. I am 6’3", 240lbs, and I carry a lot of gear. I don’t do small well. I prefer the older Ford Explorer over a new Ford Escape or Edge. However my supervisor threw a curve ball at me today: he noted that they may be interested in purchasing a good used vehicle if I can get it under their (rather small) price cap. In short, if I can find a Tahoe or a Expedition for the right price, they might buy it. I am specifically not going to mention what their price limit is, and I find it rather unlikely I will get that lucky, but it is an interesting concept. Might start surfing the used car web sites in my free time… Beyond all that \*\*Mom \*\*I hope you feel better. We’ve got that thing in Annapolis coming up in a few weeks. ---

Oh, is it **Boofae** day? There’s still an hour left of it in which to be happy, so let it be so! Back to the docs today, got yet more meds, I’ll be turnin’ into a pill soon. They were running 3/4 of an hour late, so I barely had time to eat some badly made dal for dindin before rushing out to endure them pesky elephants keep away again. I made a big pot, and had to rush it, so I shall have to see if I can improve it tomorrow. I’ll be out for work from 11 til 10pm though, so when I’ll get to eat any I don’t know… ---
