# Foulest soda/pop?

The soda I found the absolute nastiest is Coca Cola. To me it tastes like carbonated and sweetened bile. You know, the clear liquid you throw up when you have the dry heaves.
One of my friends hates root beer because he thinks it tastes like Colgate.
What is your least favourite soda and why does it have that dubious rank?

Well, the OP got eaten, but I’d say that it’s Moxie, hands down. There’s really no point in even continuing the conversation, since NOTHING could be more vile than Moxie.

I haven’t seen Moxie around here, but Lemon Coke is revolting. It tastes and smells like furniture polish.
Not that I am in the habit of drinking furniture polish.

Damn you Flymaster, that was my answer exactly. I agree that this is a pointless question unless you want to argue what is the 11th most vile soda because Moxie takes up the first ten places all by itself. I was excited when I first moved to New England and found some in a general store in Vermont because I had read about it being one of the oldest marketed soft drinks and all. One sip later and that all changed. The only thing I could do was pass it around the car and dare people to try a sip. Most of those people haven’t spoken to me since. For those of you talking about Lemon Coke this and Pepsi Blue that, it is like suggesting that your local Pee-Wee baseball team could take on the New York Yankees.

Moxie? I’ve never had it so I can’t absolutely say, but for my money, the nastiest soda ever was found in the small independent grocery store near my house in high school
Generic Diet Peanut Butter Fudge “soda”
Oh man was this gross. a whole case fell off the top shelf once and exploded in the aisle…the smell lingered for weeks ::shudder::

Never had Moxie here either. Crystal Pepsi was pretty vile.
Diet Peanut Butter Fudge soda? Gack. I know there used to be diet chocolate soda sold in Iowa. I tried it once. Once. One of the worst ever.

Ever tried the soft drink, Beverly? You can taste it at Disneyworld. It’s an Italian drink, IIRC.
You’ll be spitting for weeks after even the mildest sip. I’d rather chug Drano than take another taste.

I _like_ Moxie - I developed the taste while I was an undergrad in Maine. That does not mean, however, that I’ll pay shipping charges to get it here.

Dear lord, [Cel-Ray](http://shop.store.yahoo.com/soda-pop/drbrownscelray.html) was just about the worst thing I’ve ever tasted, soda or otherwise.
Factors which only served to increase the unpleasantness:
1. Dr. Brown’s brings several images to mind, none of which made the soda taste any better.
2. I knew it was going to be bad, but I tried it anyway, and it was so much worse than I imagined.
3. ITS CARBONATED CELERY FLAVORED SODA

Blue Pepsi was pretty damn awful but I’m not sure if hiding the Windex like tint in a blind taste test would help.
