I recently discovered a website that points out fun and interesting things to check out between Point A and Point B. For instance, I thought I knew everything about the drive between Portland and Seattle-boy was I wrong! I may have to add about an hour to my drive time the next time I travel. It doesn’t work very well for UK trips ! I entered a trip from Stevenage (~30 miles north of London) to Oxford (~50 miles northwest of London) Highlights on the way included … Las Vegas, Nevada: Liberace Museum (Closed) Verona, Pennsylvania: Homemade Exxon Tiger (Gone) Bisbee, Arizona: Bicycle House (Gone) Albuquerque, New Mexico: Route 66 - Aztec Motel (Gone) Lancaster, Ohio: Buckeye Lake’s Caged Black Bear (Gone) It got one right :- Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology ---

Europe is not well-represented. The only highlight between Paris and Luzern: **Astronomical Clock of Besançon** Details: Springfield, Missouri: Bill Elliott’s 1997 McD’s NASCAR (Gone) Definitely going to keep that link for the next driving trip in the U.S. And in the meantime, maybe it’ll get some more entries in the rest of the world. ---

Atlas Obscura works in the Philippines, FYI. But it doesn’t work like the OP’s website — you have to look at the map to manually see what sites are near your route; and IOW it doesn’t map your route and automatically generate sites along that route. ---
