One time I went to a public restroom and saw a apple with a usb cable sticking out of it. The apple was covered in some kind of white fluid it; it could’ve been lotion or mayonnaise judging by how it looked. Also, this thing was sitting in the trash can. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of it. So, why would someone do something like that to an apple? ---

What makes you think it was lotion or mayonnaise? Could have been something else. ---

In this case, I think it was just to make anyone who saw it ask exactly the question you did. It makes a twisted sort of sense, plugging it into an apple instead of an Apple. And then covering it in junk so people wouldn’t reach in and remove the cable and ruin the “art.” ---

What I meant is that probably it only _ **looked** _ that way, which is the most likely explanation. It’s highly unlikely that someone would go to the trouble of making such a statement–moreover putting a substance on it so that it not be disturbed–and then place it in a trash can, where very quickly it will be covered by the next trash to come along. If someone _ **had** _ done that, however, it would have been a one-dimensional, simple-minded statement, not really worthy of so much effort.
