In the 1980’s I owned an interior design company and I took a job redecorating a Temple of an eastern religion that specialized in meditation. During that time I got to know several of the people who were actively involved in running the temple. I was immediately taken back by how young looking the long time members looked. Two of the ladies I mainly worked with were 53 and 48 years old respectively. When they first walked into my office to see me I didn’t take them seriously as I thought they were too young, they looked to be in their mid 20’s. I was about 36 at the time just for reference, now that I am 70 everyone looks young. ``` I don't know the exact intervals of the groups meditation breaks but I know it was very frequent not more than a couple of hours passed between sessions and I am guessing now the sessions lasted about 10 minutes. They were in a closed room so I couldn't see the positions they took but could only hear the repetitive chants. When they came out of the session for the first few minutes they did appear somewhat intoxicated. The general mood was peaceful, quiet and not much chit chat. The members were assigned to me to reduce costs of labor. Sometimes they would put in as much as 16 hours a day. I am convinced that this program contributed to many of them looking so young. I have to wonder what chemicals they were stimulating while doing these chants. ``` ---

People who go through life without enjoying drugs and alcohol can stay young and healthy looking far past the time when they should look old. Take Weird Al for instance, he’s like 110 years old or something. ---

Did they do all this chanting and closed-door stuff every day? I’m guessing people who have that kind of time don’t have to work for a living and have the means for pricy spa treatments and plastic surgery. Either that, or…you didn’t happen to notice a bunch of portraits of increasingly wrinkly-looking people, did you? ---

I think these people were servants of the temple and pan handled money. ---

Were these people all of the same ethnicity? Genetics may have a role in this. ---
