New England Boiled Dinner is the same thing as Pot Roast but made with Corned Beef or Brisket instead of Chuck or Rump roast. From Joy of Cooking: “A cold-weather tradition in New England, this humble and hearty dish has gained popularity across the country.” My mom made it for us, and I guess she picked up the recipe when we lived in New Haven. You will like it. Or you’re MAD, MAD I tell you! ---

I was afraid it was going to be seafoody, and then I wouldn’t be able to hang out very long. The smell of seafood cooking doesn’t agree with me. ---

I’m planning to bring homemade cookies, but they’re for eating, not tossing. Given the input of Ginger and Opal, I guess I won’t try that recipe for pecan prawn white chocolate bars that I saw in the food section. :barf: ---
