Some months ago, my dad & stepmom moved to Denver. As my stepmother was clearing out the pantry, she came across a couple of bottles of liqueur. One of them was Frangelico, which has a rather fancy label with severe lettering. What…exactly…do I do with this? Most of my alchoholic drinks in the past have been beers or wines. Do I just drink a little Frangelico in a little cup? Or do I mix it with other stuff. ---

Drink it straight, from a liqueur glass. If the taste is too intense, try it with ice. If you find you really need to mix it, use milk or cream. ---

Funny, I just posted about Frangelico a few minutes ago. (My son-in-law refers to it as “Mrs. Butterworth.”) If you have a little Bailey’s Irish Creme, the two are great together 50-50 over ice. The idea of just adding milk or cream is also good. Frangelico has predominately a hazelnut flavor. I’m going to look up Sleepless’s recipe as soon as I post. I would think it would be very good with chocolate. It is a cut above most liqueurs. ---

I think it’s a cut above everything except Nocello (which is a walnut liqueur). But hey, there’s no accounting for taste. ---

Makes excellent flavoring for cheesecakes, too. Especially pumpkin cheesecakes… mmmmm. I’ll have to try mixing it with Bailey’s tonight, that sounds really good. ---

Mix it with Chambord and cream. The drink is called Nuts and Berries…oh yum yum yum. ---

It make a nice addition to Egg Nog instead of Brandy. Add Frangelico (is that how its spelled?) and some vodka and Egg Nog is rather good. ---

It sounds weird, yes, but mix it with Stoli Citron and have yourself a chocolate martini. I doubted it too but it really does taste like chocolate. ---

Pour 3/4 of a cup of coffee. Mix in 1/2 shot of Frangelico, 1/2 shot of Baileys, 1/2 shot of Drambuie, top with whipped cream. Drink whilst sitting in front of a roaring fire with the person of your choice and 2 straws. I second the nuts and berries recipie mmm mmm good. For the chocolate martini, here we add a little sugar on the tongue–just let it sit there long enough to let it melt slightly, then sip and enjoy. ( oh, by the way any vodka will do–it doesn’t need to be citron flavoured) ---
