In a way, despite costume designers trying to get things to look accurate, we’re not all that different from Shakespeare’s time, when the actors in the plays put on at the Globe were always dressed as Elizabethan courtiers, even when playing ancient Greeks, ancient Romans, ancient Egyptians, or practically anyone else.

Everyone’s so busy watching the adorable prop plane circle the Earth in the title sequences that they don’t read the curved letters surrounding it.
