Wouldn’t it be great if a certain level of unreasoning hatred was actually toxic? I mean in a more immediate way than high blood pressure, heart attacks, and stroke. I’m talking about Phreddy really getting going during a sermon, and it causes a tumour to start growing. ---

She stood by her man all the way to divorce court, then ran off with Bakker’s version of Albert Speer. (Actually, Roe Messner doesn’t seem to be a particularly bad apple. In fact, if memory serves, he and his first wife were publishers of a local magazine that ran a syndicated column called _The Straight Dope_. Small world, eh?) If anyone has done anything pitworthy this past week, it’s Larry King for putting the skeletal waif on national television the day before she died.
