(Didn’t see a thread on this. Color me surprised.) So, some veterans trucked off to Topeka to attend Phred’s service and make a counter demonstration. Shockingly, they were not allowed to attend, so they went ahead and set up out in the street. Clog up the street in front of his church and give him all the publicity he can swallow. Or, I don’t know, maybe the vast majority of Topekans are sick of him. ---

The vast majority of Topekans have been sick of him for quite some time. ---

I actually had my hopes up that Fred Phelps had died and veterans were turned away from protesting (celebrating?) at his funeral. Not dead yet. ---

It would have been better if he hadn’t announced his intentions in the newspaper, so that he could have actually gone in (with video cameras) and recorded how the church handled him. It probably doesn’t matter since they would have found a way to keep him out anyway. Hypocritical bastards that they are. ---
