Can any Vegas Dopers let the rest of us know later on if the WBC actually showed up? Sometimes they boldly proclaim they will be picketing, to plump out their schedule, then don’t really show up.
The Phelps cronies showed up at the Las Vegas Academy high school at 630 this morning to protest. I havent heard anything else so far today.

Excuse me while I chortle evilly. You see, Boss 1 is in Las Vegas, and Boss 2 joins him tomorrow. They’re both straight (it’s Boss 1’s bachelor party) and they have no idea who Fred Phelps is, but I could just see myself suggesting some entertainment! (We really do need an Evil smiley.)
You know, I’ve talked more times than I can count about a loving, compassionate God, but somehow I think Phelps is going to be in for a rather nasty shock at the end of all things. I figure the best he can hope for is finding out just how wrong he’s been.
Oh, and LVgeogeek, let me pass on to you something I heard from my Wiccan friends: “They’re your rules. He’s your god. You burn in hell!” I think they saw it on a bumper sticker somewhere. I figure it could make a nice retort for the nastier or more persistent type of proselytizer, especially the ones who don’t get Cthulu references.

Siege, the idea of Fred getting a big surprise “at the end of all things” as you put it, is one that brings a smile to my lips. My mother has a short poe, taped to her fridge that addresses that.

As I mentioned in another post, we have our own Phred clone here by the name of Ron McCrae. Instead of ex-lawyer, ex-cop. Both know the law and know how to work it.
McDepraved also did nasty stuff to his kids, but when Children & Youth took the kids away for alleged child abuse (some of it sexual), he sued and won!
It’s a shame Satan has to be so mean as to dress up these spawns of Hell as “Christians” to recruit the weak of mind. The bad thing is for the sake of the Constitution and 1st Amendment rights, we have to allow these cretens of the deep their right to picket. <sigh>

Oh… yesterday Howard Stern put the Phelps’s women hate spewing harpies (PW) up against a group of gay men (GM). The PW were bad mouthing the GM the whole time and the GM took it in stride of course. It was a trivia contest and the winning team would get 10 grand. Well , the GM team won and then the PW were yelling at them telling then they were going to hell for thier sinful lifestyle. And of course Howard was reaming the PW for thier viewpoint etc etc…
