# Free online tool to find a homeowner name?

I thought public records would be easier to use than this. Is there a way to find the name of a homeowner online without paying a service? I assumed it would be in some tax record but I’ll be damned if I can find anything.

Depends upon the jurisdiction. My county has all property records online, for free. They’ve tied it to GIS, tax records, and Google maps. Oh, yeah, police reports, too. All free.

I hesitate to give too many details for obvious reasons. I can say it’s Waukesha county in Wisconsin. I tried to google the address and keep getting realtor sites. The house isn’t even for sale. Never did public record searches so if you have a tip or 2 I’d appreciate it. I could just call tomorrow but now curiosity has me in it’s mitts.
