# free programs for excising video clips

just acquired some “video mixtape” files on the computer, needless to say i could do without some of the more… vulgar clips. are there any free programs that i could use to easily excise these clips from the videos?

I believe Total Video Converter can do that, but the free version will leave a “nag bug” in the final product.

The best and most used video editing software out there is probably VirtualDub. Even professionals use it. The more recent versions aren’t free, and the demo is severely limited, but the earlier ones are freeware and easily found. I use version 1.3c myself, it’s pretty robust.

Another vote for VirtualDub. Or VirtualDubMod, if the former has trouble with the codec.
