The guy was wearing glasses before he was hit - you can see them on his face right before he’s hit, and then he’s holding them in his hands because they got knocked off. It appears that the ear piece of the glasses cut him right over/next to his right ear - that’s where the blood was coming from in the 2nd shot with the bloody shirt. Totally believable, except I can’t imagine why he didn’t try to stop the bleeding and save his shirt. ---
