Yesterday I had a nice piece of freedom sole for supper, with a lovely side of freedom beans. I looked out the freedom windows in the restaurant, and saw none other than Daniel Chester Freedom, the guy who carved the statue of Lincoln in the Lincoln memorial. He was walking down the street, playing a freedom horn. I did a freedom leave, ripping off the waiter, and chased after him down the street. I sicced my freedom pie on him, but he beat it off with a stick that had a nice freedom polish. My poor bird went flying on to a nearby freedom roof, and it took me hours to coax it down. ---

Wasn’t liberty cabbage renamed because it was originally called Saurkraut, “Kraut” being a derogatory term for Germans? I feel sorry for the Freedoms still living in this country: as Kermit the Liberty sang, “It’s not easy being Green.” Daniel ---

I can see this getting to be a problem. There are, or so I’ve heard, over 600 types of cheese, many of which have French names. Are there that many synonyms for freedom? What about the Swiss? They tend to be neutral, and if you’re not for us… I get this picture of a guy in the newly renamed city of Red Stick, Georgiana, saying “I’ll have a ham and Freedom on rye, with Freedom’s mustard and a little bit of Freedom dressing, and a side of Freedom fries. For desert, I think the Freedom vanilla ice cream sounds good, and a cup of coffee o’ Freedom.” ---
