# Freeware/Shareware that will pitch correct?

Again with the tech audio questions. I have some recordings that were made a half-step above normal pitch, and I want to correct them to standard (A440) pitch. Will any common audio shareware do this?

When in doubt, try [Audacity](http://audacity.sourceforge.net). It’s full-featured audio editing freeware.

I’m far from an expert with it, but I think the option you want is under **Effect|Pitch and Tempo|Change Pitch**.
