Jesus.h.christ. Just a few things to add; 1.Abortion pictures on trucks - OH no! sheild my virgin eyes!!! Puhleeze, I see roadkill, thats MORE traumatic than a _picure_ of ANYTHING. 2.Any woman who uses abortion as a means of birth control should be taken out and sterilized. Its disgusting. 3.Abortion can NOT be an easy choice, a quick fix, it is the last resort for most women, and they shouldnt be made to feel like a monster for needing one. 1. **PLEASE do not compare getting cancer treatment to getting an abortion. Pregnancy is 100 percent preventable with abstinance. Cancer sadly is NOT.** ---

Right. Because everyone who is pro-choice (what the hell is a “proponent of abortion”? are there really a lot of people running around encouraging people to have more abortions?) is a drooling moron who has no concept of things like context, or appropriate times and places. Which is why I’m going to encourage _Hustler_ magazine to have their distributors enlarge the contents of next month’s “Beaver Hunt” feature to 10’ x 10’ and put them on the sides of their trucks. Hey, pornography is legal, so all you folks who have no problems with these abortion trucks should have no problem with that, right? Personal to **Stella** : Don’t be goaded by certain jackasses into answering questions that are none of their business just so that they can put their feet up smugly and feel morally superior to you. ---

Actually, it has a lot to do with the First Amendment, inasmuch as that is what prevents the government from banning these trucks. Obscenity (not pornography) is not protected by the First Amendment, but bloody abortion pictures undoubtedly are, even if children may see them. I’m pro-choice, and I think the pictures are icky and in bad taste. But I found the pictures of coathangers that the pro-choicers used to use in their propaganda icky and in bad taste, too. (Anyone know why we haven’t seen as many of those lately?) ---

Well, to put it a different way, I oppose the death penalty, but that doesn’t mean I want to see a picture of an electrocuted corpse on the side of a truck as I drive down the highway. Yeah, it’s gross, but I’d wager that most people don’t have “Icky gross!” as one of their top reasons to oppose the death penalty. It’s the same thing with abortion. Is there really anyone out there who doesn’t understand that abortion = killing a fetus? People don’t support the right to abortion just because they are unaware how disgusting a fetus looks post-abortion. They have other reasons. Personally, I am pro-life, although it is not one of my hot button issues. (I.e., I’ll never vote for someone on the sole basis that they oppose abortion, or whatever.) But I am not pro-life because abortions are gross and disgusting. I am pro-life because fundamentally I believe that a gestating fetus is a human being with an individual right to life. And whether you believe that, as I do, or you believe that a fetus is not yet a human person, as pro-choicers do, seeing a bloodied aborted fetus isn’t really going to change your mind. It’s tacky, pointless, and I wish people would stop doing it. ---

I do not advocate the idea of women having abortions. I advocate women being allowed to make the decision for themselves. **Thermalribbon’s** characterization of pro-lifer’s as “embracing abortion as a way of life” and as “life-afirming female-empowering” are just more straw-man arguments. what i’m saying is that i think **if** they could show that these trucks distract drivers (and i’m sure they do, whether or not they have the kind of severe reaction that i would), and that they pose a safety hazard, they _could_ ban them. first amendment or no, safety comes first. as for the scaring little kids, i think that’s an issue of them being sick fucks who obviously don’t care as much about children as they claim. ---

Ain’t this country great? I’m starting to think that the people who organized this are really giving a bad name to those who think abortion is a bad idea.
