Portions of the 10 freeway in SCal were built in the late 40s. Since the roadway was constructed with a lifespan of 30-40 years, you can understand why its in such crappy shape. During the 1970s when the infrastructure should have been seriously rehabbed or replaced, budget cutbacks simply delayed the process.
