# French translation?  \[Interview with Andre the Giant (1966)\]

This has to be one of the worst interviews I heard in a long time. Essentially it goes something like this (paraphrased from memory, not worth translating the whole thing properly):

- How old are you?
- 19
- How tall are are you?
- (mumble, mumble)
- Really? 1.86m. You must eat a lot.
- (mumble, mumble)
- Meat?
- (mumble, mumble)
- And you drink… red wine, of course?
- No.
- No?
- Milk actually.
- Milk!
- And so you spend your time chopping wood like this?
- Yeah. Chopping wood. And wrestling.
- Really?

Then after a few shots of André practising holds, you get a number of other dull questions, like how much do you weigh? What size shoe do you wear?

The only marginally interesting part is the question about wine. It’s also interesting that I’m tall but hardly giant but I was about as tall as him at 19.

As Jovan said, the interviewer he’s just asking what is height, weight, etc… are, mentions that it must be difficult to feed and dress such a large man, and explain he’s going to start wrestling.

how old ? 19  
size? 2m10  
meat : 600-700 g/day  
bread : 2 pounds/day  
wine : no wine, milk  
intend to stay a logger? No, I’m starting wrestling.

you didn’t hurt him? I hope I didn’t  
weight : 140 kg  
neck size : 54  
shoe size : 54  
when do you start wrestling? : tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm at “La Mutualité”.

(1m86 is the size of the interviewer, for comparison).
