Share yours! Mine didn’t actually happen to me, but it did affect me. Many years ago (1997, I think), my oldest brother (who, by the by, is _exceedingly_ superstitious) was working in some little podunk town in the middle of nowhere in Alabama hanging steel. He woke up one morning for work and noticed that it was Friday the 13th and said to himself “I should stay home.” He realised that he needed the money more than the peace of mind, so went to work despite his own best intuition. Halfway through his workday, he slipped on a grease spot on a beam and fell 47 feet, landing on his head. He shattered both arms (trying to shield his head – no one thinks when falling that far, I am sure) and it was touch-and-go for several months. He was actually in a coma for the first 4 months, I think. He is fine now. Aside from a lot of loss of movement in his arms and a lot of metal now holding him together, he has no major problems from it. He **does not** leave the house on Friday the 13th, now. For any reason. I have never been superstitious. I’ve never had any problems with Friday the 13th. I had my nasal surgery (deviated septum repair plus a buncha other stuff) on Friday the 13th. No problems – actually, I ended up winning $500 that night playing Bingo (for the first time in my life, lol!) so it was a lucky day. So, what are your Friday the 13th horror stories? ---

I found a body floating in the Mississippi on a Friday the 13th. It was an unusually warm February, and the ice had melted, the water warmed a bit, the gasses built up… Turns out he had been missing four months. I would _not_ recommend the cologne he was wearing. ---

In honor of my late mother, I think her story would have been my birth. On friday, Jan. 13, 1939 in the bedroom of a small rural house w/ no electricity, only oil lamps. She was 5’2" and probably didn’t weigh much over a hundred pounds. I was something over ten pounds and the country doctor had to use forceps on my head, to assist the delivery. ---

Curiously, nothing bad has ever really happened to me on Friday the 13th. Now excuse me while my girlfriend and I go skinnydipping in the lake… ---

[/QUOTE] I’m a Friday the 13th baby, too! I don’t know all the details, but something got botched during the delivery, and mom nearly bled to death before it was caught. But, _aside from that_, I like to think of Friday the 13th as my lucky day.
