I’ve anticipated the season premier of Friends throughout the summer and have read articles previewing my favorite shows, however, Friends only seemed to be mentioned in passing (i.e. the Chandler-Monica nuptials). Then, while watching the Today show, an interview with Jennifer Aniston was shown concerning her new movie “Rock Star.” She talked for a few minutes about the great new vehicle RS was and how her character ‘spoke to her,’ etc. Then, they mention the upcoming final season of Friends. Spoiler Alert!!! Read no further if you don’t want to know. She revealed (or perhaps it was the interviewer) that Rachel is pregnant and show a scene or two from the premier (Mon and Rachel sitting at a table at the reception. Rachel takes a swig of champagne, turns her back to Mon and spits the champagne back into the glass). But then the interviewer tries to get her to reveal the father, and Aniston clams up. I’ve been working more hours this summer than usual and I may have missed articles or predictions on the father’s identity. Who is it? What’s your guess? And do you really think this will be the final season? ---

I was hoping it would be Phoebe and the scientist guy. Phoebe and Joey would have been a lot of fun. Rachel’s such a bed-hopper. Maybe it’s Paolo come back from wherever he went to. It would be just too boring if Tag was the father. ---

I agree. I was hoping it would be Phoebe with Joey as the father. But now that it’s Rachel (assuming this isn’t a ploy to throw us off), we have many possible fathers to suspect. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ross is the father. I missed a few episodes this year. Did he and Rachel have the opportunity to hook-up this year? ---

Didn’t Rachel say something to the effect of “Maybe I’ll just go and sleep with Joey” on the season finale? I’m not sure if that was the exact wording but I"m pretty sure it’s Joey. ---

It’s all a ruse to throw us off. Chandler’s dad is pregnant. I don’t watch much T.V. any more so I missed quite a few episodes last season. Clue me in, who could have slept with: Phoebe- Policeman, Joey, scientist guy. . . Rachel- Ross, Joey, Tag-- how long ago was Joshua? Susan and/or her life partner. (Don’t know how the test could have ended up in Monica’s bathroom). Can someone round up all the suspects for me? ---

After I posted about Ross, I started thinking. Remember how at the beginning of last season (I think it was last season) when they all went to Las Vegas, Rachel and Ross ended up in bed together because of their drunken stupor/marriage, etc? You don’t think they’d pull something like ‘that was just a few months ago’ instead of an entire year? yeah, I know. I’m reaching. I can’t imagine that it would be Tag; he was so dull and boring and it didn’t seem as if many viewers liked him. I don’t see Joey as being the father either; in the previews for the upcoming premier, he’s seen putting a comforting hand on Rachel’s shoulder. I can’t think of who else it could be other than (long shot) Ross and he’s been so whiny this season, that’s nearly impossible. ---

It’s gonna be Rachel and that young Hottie she broke up with in the birthday episode. The only reason she broke it off was because she wanted kids before she was 35, so it all ties up rather nicely! P.S. I am soooooooooooo glad they got rid of the whole Ross/Rachel thing. It was getting really old. ---

SPOILER BELOW . . . . . . . . . . . I heard it is Ross from a couple of places. Many of the fans want them back together, so Ross it is. There was also a spoiler in a recent issue of _People_ magazine. It was along the lines of “It isn’t Tag, Chandler has been faithful, it sure isn’t Joey, so who else could it be? Hmmmm…” ---

\ I don’t watch **Friends** (I’ve seen maybe a dozen episodes total) but I swear I read more than once that this past season was supposed to be the last one. Did I halucinate that, or at one point was the wedding that ended this past season supposed to be the series finale? I remember being surpised to read the episode description in TV Guide as it being the season finale, and not the series one. \
