Can someone refresh my memory of what Olivia did for the alternate Broyles’ son to help him sleep? I remember her wanting to see the kid but not why or what she did. (Seems like so long since I’ve seen a live Fringe episode.) Also, just a heads up that Fringe is being banished to Friday nights and will likely get cancelled because of it. The primo after-AI slot on Thursdays is going to…Bones. Oofa. (And I watch Bones, but that still stings.) ---

“Fringe” banished to Fridays? Shit. I really like this show, but that’ll probably do it in. Maybe some science fiction channel can pick it up and nourish it properly. ---

As for the Candyman, it wasn’t just capturing him, it was studying his device which allowed the doctors to try use it, or the method it worked on, to try and help cure the kid. And as for Fridays, I guess I missed that. Is next week’s episode Thursday or Friday? ---

Most everyone else has considered it boring as hell, and that’s why the ratings dropped off. Hopefully viewers will return now that this dual universe crap seems to be over with. ---

Other than the fact that things ended predictably, what was bad about the two universe plot-line? And actually, I have a feeling that we’ll still have episodes about the other universe, the only difference being that Oliva won’t be trapped in the other one. ---

I adore the dual universe stuff. I didn’t really get into Fringe until it moved beyond monster of the week. Now, I’m addicted! I love picking out all the differences in the alternative world. ---

I’m also a lot happier with the parallel worlds at war plotline than a monster of the week show. In fact, since almost all the crazy things happening is a result of this tear in the fabric, they’d be wise to just wind up the series when they resolve it. ---

In general I liked this episode, but did anyone else think that there had to be some really stupid behavior by the agents in our universe to make it work. They capture the agent from the other universe, who they know wants to travel back, and then leave her by herself in the back of the paddy wagon. They may not have been able to stop her, but at least it would have made more sense if they were watching her closely and tried to stop her. They also finally figure out the typewriter store thing and just let the owner go. You think they would at the very least take him into some kind of protective custody and debrief him about all of the shapeshifters he has met through the years. Instead they let him go free and he delivers the aritifact. I usually have no problem suspending disbelief for a good story, but these items seemed really blatant. ---

Kind of, sort of on topic: Did anyone else watch **Dirty Sexy Money**? And then totally not realize that the guy who plays Lincoln was Jeremy Darling?! He’s grown up a lot (looks-wise) in just a couple of years. ---

So Fauxlivia and parts of Broyles B swap sides, keeping the worlds in balance. Does Olivia coming back throw the balance off again? But wait, aren’t there a whole bunch of mercury blooded shape shifters over here from world B? OK fine, the mumbo-jumbo is only needed for plot points, but they should at least be internally consistent. ---

I don’t think it has anything to do with maintaining balance. I think it was more along the lines of the specific transfer procedure they use requires an exchange of mass. I’m guessing the shapeshifters could use a different process to transfer over because they’re much more durable, being engineered and also having that nice cocoon. ---

There seems to be a few methods for crossing over. [ol] [li]Walter’s ripping open a hole between worlds. Has damaging effects, especially for the other universe.[/li][li]A method shown in Massive Dynamic. A method which makes the molecules of the person or object unstable and prone to blowing up.[/li][li]The method Bell used to transfer Oliva there and back.[/li][li]The method Walternate uses of transferring an equivalent mass between universes.[/li][/ol] ---

I’m also increasingly confused by the who/what/how of the transfer between worlds, especially after this last episode. For one thing, why did our Walter act like he had no idea how to get to the other side and get Olivia back? He’s already been there twice! I know the second time he used Olivia and the Cortexiphan Kids (band name!) to power the transfer, but what did he use to open the original portal when he kidnapped alt-Peter? And why can’t he do it again? Maybe they’ve addressed this and I just don’t remember. The mass-exchange business is doubly confusing. I can see why it would be necessary, but how come it isn’t when Olivia does it? Just because she has a certain chemical in her brain, that means she can violate laws of physics that everyone else has to follow?
