IIRC, Roseanne (in the sitcom of the same name) also had a Bavarian accent.

That just reminded me of good old Poldi “[Ich will Dir fressen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2I09tY_WTw)”

I’ve noticed something similar coming the other way: apparently Japan has its own regional accent that denotes hillbilly hayseeds. Frequently a character in an Anime will be voiced with such a accent as a quick shorthand way of giving their character.

When the dub those anime into English, it seems they almost always give that character a Texas accent.
So if you are watching a dubbed anime, and there’s a character with a Texas accent, that’s supposed to tell you that they are stupid. Which hardly seems fair to Texas. 😉
